Auburn/Alabama Kick-Off Prayer Breakfast Wrap-Up 2011

On Nov. 15th at 6:00am, approximately 500 attended the 14th Annual FCA AU/AL Prayer Breakfast. Eighteen schools from 7 counties in North Alabama were represented.

Chick-fil-A and Pepsi Cola of Decatur generously provided the food and drinks. First Baptist Church graciously provided their facility and assistance. All of our sponsors continue to be a tremendous blessing in making this an event that is anxiously anticipated each year.

Kyle Collins, who is a former '83-'85 running back for Auburn University, shared of his playing days alongside eventual Heisman Trophy winner, Bo Jackson. While at Auburn, Kyle learned that he had a religion, not a relationship with Christ. He went on to become President of the FCA huddle at Auburn.

Bill Searcey, former '76-'80 University of Alabama offensive guard and pro football player, talked about his struggles after football and how he overcame them through Christ. He is currently a counselor at Changed Lives Christian Center in Birmingham, helping other men regain their self-esteem and their dignity.

Music was provided by the Morgan family of Flat Rock, AL.
Garrett Wates, Marion County High School FCA, prayed the Opening Prayer for the event.
