On Nov. 17th at 6:00am, approximately 500 attended the 12th Annual AU/AL Prayer Breakfast. Twenty-two schools from 8 counties in North Alabama were represented.
Chick-fil-A and Pepsi Cola of Decatur generously provided the food and drinks. First Baptist Church graciously provided their facility and assistance. All of our sponsors continue to be a tremendous blessing in making this an event that is anxiously anticipated each year.
Rich Wingo, who is a former defensive lineman for the University of Alabama and a former seven year Green Bay Packer, shared a story relating how Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant wanted a "sold-out, 100% committed, get a little better everyday player". Mr. Wingo then went on to say that "life will not have purpose until it intersects with Jesus".
Former Auburn University offensive guard, Rick Chenault said, "Through FCA, I found the strength and courage to be the best I could be for God".
Music was provided by soloist, Suzanne Ford, from The University of North Alabama.
Trent Williams, quarterback for Phillips High School, prayed our Opening Prayer for the event.
A special thanks to our event Title Sponsor - Long-Lewis Ford Lincoln Mercury of the Shoals.
