The Alabama High School Athletic Association’s All-Star Sports Week will have plenty of local flavor this year. Fourteen local high school athletes have been selected for all-star teams in
      their respective sports.

In boys basketball, Austin guard Detrick Mostella, Tanner center Jace Haggermaker and Hatton guard Ty Terry were selected to play for the North squad.

In softball, Hatton’s Hillary Carpenter (pitcher) and Victoria Crumpton (outfield), along with Lawrence County’s Victoria McDaniel (shortstop) and MacKenzie Hill (third base) were selected to play for the North squad. Hartselle third baseman Baylee Holt also was selected.

Loryn Brown UA Memorial Scholarship Form

On April 27, 2011, Ardmore High School Head Football Coach, Shannon Brown, and his family tragically lost their 21 year old daughter and sister, Loryn Alexandria Brown, to the Tuscaloosa, AL tornado that swept the city.
A University of Alabama Memorial Scholarship has been set up in her name, in hope that some good may come from this devastating historical event that has touched so many lives.
